We want to explore more about spiritual marketing or “marketing with a heart” and how to think success.
As a jumping-off place, we wish to refer to a telling question that came to us recently for our Overcoming Marketing Mindset Blocks with EFT Teleclass:
“I have tried many things as far as my own businesses and offering services….because of that I have a lot of skills and knowledge, but no matter what I try, when it comes to selling myself or marketing, it becomes the biggest obstacle. The reason it is the biggest obstacle is that I am an introvert and no matter how many trainings I do, I highly dislike and am very uncomfortable giving presentations, doing cold calls, or being a “salesperson”, etc…..it’s way out of my comfort zone and don’t know if I can get past that. I am fine with one on one or very small groups though.”
To respond, we will examine three inter-related areas
1. Align with your life purpose
2. Learn marketing skills – and taper them to your life purpose
3. Stay “purpose-centered”
Let’s look at each of these essential areas.
1. ALIGN WITH YOUR LIFE PURPOSE
Your life purpose is a special alchemy of your gifts and passions. It’s about making your contribution. You may be more or less clear on what is your purpose.
By developing a stronger connection with your soul, or higher guidance, you will, sooner or later, get reliable insights and direction.
2. LEARN MARKETING SKILLS
When we were trained to be holistic hypnotherapists in the early 1990’s, there was little direction about how to market your business. Today many people still find the marketing side of their business as some combination of a mystery and distasteful activity.
Yet what we finally realized, it’s a matter of learning a set of skills. Of added interest, marketing has a profound psychology to it as well. Marketing has many profound, metaphysical aspects, both in understanding your own mindset and in attracting and helping others.
3. STAY “PURPOSE-CENTERED”
Let your purpose guide you. Let your gifts and passions craft your message. Let your deeper interests shape your offerings.
To be sure, your purpose is about stretching out of your comfort zone, which can at times be unsettling. Dealing with uncertainty is part of the growth process.
Yet you don’t have to do cold calls or be a traditional “salesperson” to succeed. What do you need to be? You need to be yourself. Your calling is to help the people who are looking for your special gifts, so they move forward, too.
Becoming educated about marketing develops the communication skills you need. It teaches you to be strategic and effective.
Sharing your gifts should be exciting. It’s what you’re here to do. Marketing is about reaching out to more people, in a way that feels good and that works.
AND ONE MORE THING
Yes, some people are more introverted than others, like the person stated in the original question of this post. Nonetheless, there is a place and way for each archetypal role, whether you’re a server, warrior, sage or another role.
In our next post we will talk about the different archetypes and how they affect marketing and getting your message out.
For now, just remember the above three points: Keep embracing your life purpose. Study heart-centered marketing. Stay on purpose.
What are your thoughts about “marketing with heart,” and how to “think success” regardless of your doubts?

I have to admit that I used to be one of the people who viewed marketing as “someone else’s area,” meaning Phillip. When I realized that in its essence marketing is simply getting your message out (which is why I’m here), it changed everything for me. With the right information, tools, and strategies, it can be a true joy, even for introverts like me. It also stretches me to expand and grow, which I appreciate.
Now I love to let people know what we’re doing and how they can take their next steps to wholeness. I am helping more people, getting my message out, and making my contribution to the world I want to create.
I am one of those people that can create content all day long – it’s a very abundant resource for me, especially when I write. So it’s no surprise that my most effective marketing is through writing. I have done preview teleclasses for product launches with lots of attendance and no success. And I’ve sent out simple emails, getting huge response.
Best of all, it doesn’t feel like “marketing” to me when I write. It’s just who I am.
Blessings,
Andrea
Andrea,
Thanks for sharing in an authentic way what works for you. Keep up your inspiring work!

Have you been looking over my shoulder? I still owe $7k for sales and marketing training. I have a site which I recently rebuilt for the 3rd time. There is a blog on my site where I answer free, questions 5 days a week through the guidance of the angels. I have another blog, separate, which I’m using as a way to ease into a book, which I haven’t written. I do two free teleseminars a month where I answer questions live, on everything from “the shift” to what’s my boyfriend up to? I write articles which have been given some notice.
My big challenge is “the next step.” I read & clear people’s field to promote healing. I am constantly looking for new clients. People tend to call me once because they are in difficulty. I receive so much praise it’s embarrassing. Does it convert to money? No.
Do I need help? Obviously, but I am wary of spending any more money when I am still carrying the debt on my credit card of the last guy.
I”m listening though.
Suzy,
I want to acknowledge you for your gifts and contributions. I can also sense the frustration of your efforts not paying off on a material level.
If you’re marketing is not working, here are three important things to consider:
1) Have you mastered the skills sufficiently to help people (from your comment, it seems that you have received positive feedback on your abilities, so this probably is not an issue)?
2) Is what you’re offering enough in demand enough for people to pay for? People pay for things that keep them up at night.
3) Assuming people want to pay for what you have to offer (the problem you are solving), do you have a strategic approach to offering it? This includes giving some things away for free (as in teleclasses and free reports), and also having a strategic way these offerings can lead into paid programs and services with you.
If you give too much away for free, don’t have strategic ways people can connect with you for more help to solve their problems, or lack a specific market and problem your solving, it’s challenging getting your message out.
Getting the right marketing materials, or perhaps reviewing some you already have, can help. Also it might be best to have a personal coach who can work with you individually for further success.
Good luck and to your success.
Blessings,
Phillip
