Success Secrets: Getting the Right Training

We notice that holistic practitioners are eager to train and improve their skill set.  However, when it comes to their business skills, well that’s another story.

Practitioners and solopreneurs are too often “missing in action” when it comes to mastering marketing strategies.

SUCCESS SECRETS REVEALED

For both personal training and marketing training you need three elements: skill, knowledge and support. So why do people so readily seek to enhance their craft, such as developing healing and coaching skills? That part is more internal and private, where you learn how to be competent and deliver results.

Yet when it comes time to deliver those results you learned,  suddenly the enthusiasm drops off. Marketing is more of an external process, where you must reach out to others and let them know how you can help them.

You definitely need professional skills that increase your effectiveness. This comes more naturally to some since it complements their innate strengths and gifts, say with coaching and healing.  Some also have a knack for the business aspect too. Yet for many heart-centered professionals, marketing seems foreign and uncomfortable.

Clearly you need effective business skills as well as the tools of your trade.

THE 3 BLOCKS TO BUSINESS SUCCESS

Here are three big ones:

1. Misunderstanding marketing. Marketing is getting your message out to those who need what you have to offer. Certain learnable skills are needed to be effective.
2. Success mindset. Fears of being rejected and stepping out of your comfort zone can stop many a talented person dead in her tracks. If you knew that your offering was part of your life purpose, would you give up?  To overcome resistance to business development, use EFT and other modalities. Keep your vibrations high daily.
3. Being purpose-centered. As you get a sense of your larger purpose, you understand how to use your strengths and gifts to make a difference. In the process, your life operates on a higher level. Any setbacks become lessons on how to go further with your purpose

TREATING YOUR BUSINESS AS A BUSINESS

Practitioners are usually quite committed to helping others. However, that commitment often doesn’t extend to promoting their services.

It took us awhile to realize that we were limiting ourselves by treating our business like a hobby. When we did everything with more professional standards, we valued what we offered more and so did our clients and customers.

FINAL THOUGHTS

In truth,  business and marketing development go hand-in-hand with personal development. The personal development is more inner-directed. The business development is more outer-directed.

Building a successful business, aligned with your purpose, is an amazing opportunity.  Find ways to say “Yes”  to yourself and all that you can do and be. That’s why we created the Heart of Success Academy.

What are your thoughts on developing both your personal and business skills?

“In truth, business and marketing development go hand-in-hand with personal development. The personal development is more inner-directed. The business development is more outer-directed.”

What an excellent point! I have never heard anyone say this before! I have always highly valued personal development. I have never thought about how business and marketing development are just as important. I guess I always felt that it was beyond me or you had to be born knowing how to do it. I am now starting to feel that it’s something I can conquer.

Yes Helen. Business development is part of the spiritual journey too! It is part of getting one’s gifts and talents out to the world (life purpose).

In the process, we learn the skills to market and promote what we have to offer, with authenticity. Good luck!
